Booked two tours with Louisiana Tour Company

Booked two tours with Louisiana Tour Company prior to arriving in New Orleans. The city and Katrina tour was a 3-hour tour of the French Quarter, Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, and the French Market. The tour also takes you through rows of hundred year old homes, the above-ground cemetery and mansions including Anne Rice and Brad Pitt’s respective homes. The best part of the tour is the drive through the Lower 9th Ward where hurricane Katrina broke the levee and swept the residents and their homes away. It’s sad to see homes still abandoned, but amazing to see homes on stilts and the green storm-resistant “Brad Pitt” homes.
The swamp tour is highly recommended. We were skeptical at first thinking it would be boring and a waste of time. It was pretty cool… who would have thought swamps are beautiful! You must take the 6-passenger airboat. Travel at high speeds and sit low enough to get up close and personal with the baby gators. Word of advice – do not wear perfume or lotion or the mosquitoes will feast on you! –¬†Lake Stevens, WA
