Pick up begins at 8:30am – return to your hotel about 2pm – The tour of Laura Plantation is about 1 hr 15 minutes. Laura’s tour is provided by plantation tour guides. The tour includes: the grounds, slave quarters and plantation house. If you chose Laura, you will get to see the outside of Oak Alley plantation.

The house tour of Oak Alley is 40 minutes. Oak Alley’s tour is provided by plantation tour guides. You will have additional time to enjoy a walk through the 28 evenly spaced Oak Trees, visit the blacksmith shop or having a quick lunch in the plantation restaurant. As a bonus, you get to see the front of Laura plantation.

Houmas House Plantation Travel time to the plantation is 1 hour 10 minutes Pick up begins at 2:30pm – return to your hotel about 7pm

Houmas House tour is provided by plantation tour guides. The plantation house tour will last about 60 minutes and you will have a few minutes to walk through the gardens or visit the gift shop.

OAK ALLEY PLANTATION TOUR -

This is one of the most magnificent plantation tours because of the 28 evenly spaced, huge Oak Trees that go from the river road to the Plantation House. It looks like the movie, "Gone with the Wind". The Greek Revival home, dates back to 1837. Located on the grounds, is a restaurant, blacksmith shop, Souvenir Shop and antique farm equipment. It is a comprehensive plantation experience. The tour of the Oak Alley’s house is conducted by guides in authentic plantation style apparel. Walking is required for this tour. Plantation house to the restaurant & Souvenir Shop is about 1 block in distance. There are benches along the path, shaded by the Oaks.

LAURA PLANTATION TOUR - House & ground tour is about 1 hour 15 minutes

This is considered by many in the tour industry as the best historical plantation tour in the Mississippi Valley. The plantation was run by four Creole women, most notable, was Laura, from where the plantation gets it's name. The women ran the plantation over 60 years, using slave labor to do it. You will get to view and enter the slave quarters, as part of this tour. On this tour, you will hear stories of all aspects of the plantation life. The book “Bier Rabbit” was written here. The Plantation house was nearly destroyed by fire back in 2003, but it was rebuilt to the original design using building materials from antique homes that was disassembled and sold off in pieces. The rebuilding process, is a story in itself.

HOUMAS HOUSE "The Sugar Palace" -
House tour is about 60 minutes

Houmas House is a plantation in the Creole Style of architecture. It was built circa 1828 along the banks of the Mississippi River. This mansion home was built in the center of sugar cane country that was originally owned by the Houmas Indians. It has been the set of several movies, most notable was 1964’s “Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte” and 1975’s “Mandingo”.

The house and grounds was purchased in 2003 and under went a complete makeover. The mansion house was remodeled to ensure the authenticity of the era. Art work and furnishings were added to Houmas House to complement the best parts of each Era. The house tour will take about 40 minutes, you will spend about 1 hour & 30 minutes at the plantation. You will have ample time to explore the large gift shop and magnificent gardens that surround the Plantation house. Tour includes Round Trip Transportation & Entrance Fees.
